Doorway #10

Doorway leading to the office of the closed Lonaconing Silk Mill.

One day back in the 50's the owners came in, sent all the employees home, and closed the mill's doors never to reopen.

It still stands today just as it was left, with personal belongings remaining. The equipment is still there and still operable. It would make a great historical sight but no one, not even the county, is willing to invest in it.

More's the pity...
