Letting It Rest

Sometimes you just have to lay the camera down and pick up some reading material.

Of course it just so happens that my reading selection is a photography magazine.

Or a book on Ashby's Cavalry or better know as the Laurel Brigade. My great-grandfather was a member of Co. B Eleventh VA Cavalry which was a division of the Laurel Brigade... 🤔

Pondering the Future

I turn 73 today...  I am sitting here and, as I look out of a bedroom window, I ponder about the future wondering what yet lies ahead... ?

Color of Winter #4

Determined Dandelion

Went for a short walk yesterday. It is Winter, temperature in the 20's, and we just got 4 to 5 inches of new snow the day before.

Alongside the road was this small site, bare of snow, and in the middle of it was this Dandelion, bright yellow, smiling and looking very determined to stand out in a field of white.

Yes, it is a Dandelion, but it is a color of Winter moment...

Color of Winter #3

Even when the snow comes down you do not have to take photos without color.

Look around for color of anything and then see how you can incorporate it into your photo.

If there is too much distracting background then move in to get closer to the color to photograph it as it mixes with the snow, and show them both as they relate to each other.

Now you, too, have a color of Winter snow photograph...

Color Of Winter #2

Welcome - On a foggy Winters morning...

Snow is not needed for a good color of Winter photo. Here, on a foggy Winter's morning the Welcome sign is out with Winter toys waiting for use.

I love the colors that foggy mornings can provide...

Anniversary Of When We First Met

51 years...

Fifty one years ago, on January 3, 1969, I was introduced to Mary for the first time; on the first day of work at a new job.

Sixty five days later we were married, and have been happily so and deeply in love ever since.

Mary truly is a dream come true. With her at my side I am greatly blessed by God...

Dark Past and Future Path

As the past begins to grow darker, the light of the future begins to become brighter.

Soon the future will become bright enough for me to be able to see clearly the path that has been laid out for me to follow...
