Tree Of Life

As I looked at this tree I realized that even though there are probably over a thousand branches and limbs attached to the trunk, separately they can do nothing.

I mean there is no way they would bloom if they were to break away from the rest of the tree. In order for each limb to bloom it needs to receive nourishment from the tree itself. If it doesn’t, it will die.

As a Christian, I realize that my relationship with Jesus is the same thing. Apart from Him I can bare no fruit pleasing to the Father. I need to be attached to the tree, who is Jesus, and receive from Him the nourishment that only He can give in order for me to grow and blossom as a Christian.

Jesus said, “I am the vine and you are the branches. Apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Looking at this tree I can see what He is talking about. I may be just a twig but that to which I am attached is the Tree itself. If I were to be separated from Jesus I would wither and die...
