Black & White Photography

On The Edge Of Light

I was waiting for my wife to come out of a market one evening, when I noticed this tree line.

It seemed that the light, which was off to the side, was shining only on these trees. The forground had some light to it, but the area from the trees on back was in darkness. I could not help but think B&W photography.

Of course I always have a camera with me. So I got it out and set it on the window ledge of the door. I composed a scene that I felt would fit into an 8 x 10 image, and made three exposures. This is the one that I liked best.

Isn’t it amazing that one can find something to photograph even when sitting in a most uneventful place like a market parking lot. Of course, like I always say, “If you are not looking, you will never see.”

Yeah, I confess, I was looking… :-)

  1. Thanks for sharing all of your pictures.

  2. Beautiful Glenn! Like you, I too am always looking, and there seems to be something worth photographing just about everywhere. Wonderful!

  3. Thanks Tea & Rachel. I'm always grateful for comments and I do appreciate both of you for having done so... :-)

  4. You see your surrounding in the most beautiful way. And capturing them beautifully too. So glad that you had this in black and white. It's perfect that way.
