In the column, to the right. called “The Reason For Riff’s Photography Journal” I wrote the following:
“The purpose of this journal is to show that you can find something of interest to photograph even if you don't leave your own yard. There are photographic opportunities everywhere you look and they are there just waiting for you to find them.”
Well, if I’m going to talk the talk then I should walk the walk and practice what I preach. This isn’t the first time I’ve done this but it is the first time that I admitted it. Today’s photo, and the B&W image later this week, was taken somewhere in my yard.
This photo – Abandoned – was taken one evening right after a rain. At these times, I love the way everything seems to have a shine to it and the colors always seem to be more saturated. As I looked up at this chair, which we have sort of abandoned it’s use for this year, I viewed a scene that just begged to be photographed.
The dark and saturated colors around it were set off by the light glow of the grass in the foreground. To me it was a ready made picture. I did use my DSLR for this and did some light work on it in Photoshop Elements. This is the finished result.
This truly is my world, and you are welcome to it…
