Lockhouse 70
Recently I found myself in Oldtown, MD on a fishing outing. It was early in the morning and there was still a little fog in the air, and the lighting was soft and even. Good lighting for “moody” photography.
While I don’t fish, I do like to photograph those who do and, at the same time, I try to capture images from the surrounding area. The soft, even lighting that I had here would allow for good images of the landscape.
I knew there was a C&O Canal Lockhouse in Oldtown and, even though my favorite Lockhouse for photography is Lockhouse 75 at Mexico Farms, this was something different. A different house in a different location and I just had to take some time to do some photography of this Lockhouse.
Although I took several images from different angles, this was the one I liked the best. If you were able to look closer you would see a bike on the porch and there is a person lying down on the porch beside it. Had I waited for him to get up and leave, the lighting would have been different and I would not have gotten the photo that I did.
Yeah, this is my world and you are welcome to it…
Nice picture!
