The Color Of Winter

Tree Line

This image was created by using a Point & Shoot camera. The ISO is 80 and was exposed for 1/320 sec @f/4.5.

This is truly a color image and I included the red house just to show that it is. If I had not included the house the image comes across almost as a B&W image. The weather this day was cloudy, a heavy overcast with a touch of fog and some slight snow in the air. Because of that almost everything in nature was void of any color except for black, white and shades of gray. There is a touch of green in these trees but it is quite imperceptible.

In a couple of days I will be posting the weekly B&W photo. It is a another image of this same tree line, from a different view point, but it will be in B&W and, after viewing it, you will get an idea of what I mean when I say that sometimes the color of Winter can look very much like a B&W photo, quite like this one…

  1. Very beautiful tone Glen, congrats !

  2. I thought I posted on this one, guess I didn't click post. ... I love snow covered evergreens. I think they look so neat, and it proves how stong the limbs can really get. Pretty shot.
