West Virginia Barn
This image was created by using a Point & Shoot camera. The ISO is 80 and was exposed for 1/800 sec @f/4.
The same day I photographed the Post Office in Upper Tract WV and created the B&W image –
An American Country Post Office - I also captured this image of a barn.
The barn, sitting along side of the road between Petersburg and Franklin, WV, was painted a dark red and the color was fading, most likely due to the weather and its age. Immediately I envisioned a B&W image.
Sometimes, depending on what you like in photography, you can take a photo with an idea of how the finished image will look. Then it’s just a matter of getting the view that you like best, when time permits, and then snapping the shutter with that end result in mind; instead of just documenting what it is that is before you.
This is just one example of the many times I have done so.
