Weekly Black & White Square Photo

This weeks photo is taken from my Street Photography collection. I was at the East end of the Baltimore Street Mall when I saw this young lady starting to walk across the street. I could see the other two men starting to cross in the opposite direction and I was sure that one or the other would look over at her as they got close, and sure enough one did and made eye contact with the lady and I captured it.

The other interesting part of this photo is that each person in it is looking in different directions at the same time. However, it just goes to prove that no matter how rough things can look, no matter where you live, there is always something, somewhere, that is easy on the eyes.

The photo, itself, was originally a Black & White photo. I had my P&S 5MP camera set on the B&W mode while I was walking around this day. Now I know you are supposed to shoot in color and then convert the image, but I wanted to experiment and B&W was the order for the day. The ISO was 50 and exposed for 1/160 sec @ f/4.9. In Photoshop Elements I cropped the image, added some vignetting, a little contrast, and finished off with re-sizing for web viewing and applying some sharpening.

Not everything in my world is of a historical nature. Sometimes it's just nice to capture life as it occurs and that is what I like about Street Photography. This was one of those moments.

Yeah, this is my world and you are welcome to it.
