A View From Western Maryland

Farm Lands Of Allegany County

Click On Image For A Larger View
This is a view of some farm land as seen from Parkersburg Road between old Rt 40 and Rt 36. I just could not pass up what I felt was a classic shot.

The photo was taken with a DSLR and an 18 - 105 lens. The ISO was 200 and shot at 1/320 sec @ F/11. I then adjusted levels in Photoshop Elements, added a touch of vignetting - I just like vignetting that's all - and then, after re-sizing I added a touch of sharpening.

Less than 30 minutes from my house, in almost any direction, and I see scenes like this. I am a country boy; do not like living in the city.

Yeah, this is my country world and you are welcome to it.

  1. That's the same farm where I took my rainbow shot. It's such a beautiful farm even without the rainbow!

  2. Thanks Marcia, I knew I recognized it from somewhere :-)

Great minds & all that, you know.

  3. Glenn,
I am a new member and I found your website through a group post. I love this location and your photo!

  4. Mindy,

Welcome to the group and thanks for your kind comment. Love both of your sites and flickr as well. You have quite a lot going for you and 2 great kids and a loving husband as well.

Your photos documenting your 2 boys are really good, you have a good eye, and you play the violin as well. Do you still find time for it?

Anyway, again welcome to the group and thanks.
