A View From Western Maryland

Baltimore St in November of the 40's

I was born in the 40's by the railroad tracks. The train whistled wailed and I wailed right back.

Just up N. Centre St from here, Baltimore St., is where I was born; right beside a railroad bridge, and this is a view of what Baltimore St. looked like back in the 40's during WWII. This was a setup during one week when Cumberland went to war.

There is always something going on in my town and it is never the same twice. The same event will always provide you with something new. To view a similar and previous B&W post you can go here Baltimore St.

This photo was taken with a DSLR and an 18 - 70mm lens; just resized for web viewing and a touch of sharpening was added to compensate for the reduction in size and that was it.

As I always say, history abounds in all my towns.

Yeah, this is my world and you are welcome to it.
