On September 26th will be the annual Allegany Co. Sheriffs Train Pull to benefit the local Special Olympics Program. This photo is from last year and it shows just a very small part of the hundreds of people that came to root on their favorite team, and to help raise funds for the Special Olympics.
Each team has to the pull the train at least 12 feet and the fastest time wins, and there has been some pretty impressive times. If you want to find out for yourself you will just have to drop by and watch.
To find out more information about the annual Train Pull which is being held during the Canalfest/Railfest on September 25, 26 & 27 you can go to Canalfest/Railfest and look at all of the events and times. There is sure to be something good for everyone.
As for this photo it was taken with a DSLR and an 18 - 70mm lens. It was cropped and converted to a B&W image in photoshop elements. Then I added some contrast and just a smidgen of sharpening.
I'll be there again this year, hopefully, and I know that I will have lots of fun and some good food as well. Why don't you come for at least one day as well? You won't regret it :-)
I keep telling you that there is always something going on in my world and this is one of the more favorable events.
Yeah, this is my world in Western Maryland, I love it, and you are welcome to it.
