In the June July issue of Allegany Magazine, a well known lifestyle magazine of Allegany County in Western Maryland, is a story with this house as a center piece. The story is about the present day events coordinator at the Allegany County Fairground's, and his memories of life living at the house when visiting his grand parents; beginning from the time he was around one.
The story is a good one, well written by a local author and interesting to read. My advice? Get the Magazine and read it. The title is "Family A - Fair", Carnies, Concession and Old German Beer, Living Life at the Allegany County Fairgrounds.
It just so happened that I had already been down to the fairgrounds and taken several photos of the house and this weeks B&W Square Photo is one of them. It was taken March 7, 2009 with a DSLR and an 18-105mm lens, ISO was 200, 1/200 sec @f/8. In photoshop elements I cropped it, converted it to B&W and did a little burning in of the edges.
If I wanted, I could walk to this house, but at my age a car is best. Going down hill would be OK but coming back up might be a little slow.
There is always something going on in my world here in Western Maryland and it's great to see something in a fine local magazine of something that I've already seen and documented.
Yeah, this is my world, always historical, and you are welcome to it.
Stop by for a visit.
