Happy July 4th

The thirteen red & white strips of the flag stand for the first 13 United States of America. These United States that we now have may not be perfect, but I would not want to live anywhere else.

In my neck of the woods there is a lot of history present. And what better place to show you, in starting to reveal my world, is a place where the father of our country slept. Yep, good ol' George slept here.

This is a restored cabin that George Washington used when he was here at Fort Cumberland during the French and Indian War. It now sits down the hill from where the original Fort once stood. At one time it had been moved away and was left to deteriorate. It was then repurchased and restored, and finally placed at the confluence of Wills Creek and the Potomac River where it now sits.

This is just the beginning of seeing what it is like to live where I do. There are many more photos of my area to be shown. As I mentioned there is a great deal of history present and numerous photo opportunities to be seen; buildings, landscapes, events and people, all interesting and to be enjoyed.

Yes, this is my world and you are welcome to it.
