The Old Depot was first built in 1891, in Frostburg, MD, by the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company. By 1942 it closed due to loss of rail traffic because of the war and travel by car was increasing causing the railroads to loose money. It then fell into disrepair.

In 1989 the depot was restored and was then fitted with a restaurant and shops, and became the Western Terminus for the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad out of Cumberland, MD. It has remained in use for that reason to this day. This is what it presently is like.
