One Photo Can Define A Game

It is close to the end of the game and after having fought as hard as you and your team mates have done, coming off of the field already knowing the outcome, one can show how tired, dejected and depressed they are with this knowledge. No words need spoken. The look says it all.

What they do not realize is how proud their fans are of them for what they were able to accomplish, and how close they came to winning a game that everyone said that in no-way did they have a chance of winning. They almost pulled off the unbelievable. It was that close. One touchdown near to the end could have made the difference...

Pennsylvania Country Road

Please click on the photo for a better image...

While this was taken on a back country road in Pennsylvania, where I live in Western Maryland, this also could have been in MD or in WV. This can be seen in all three states. It just so happens that this time I was in PA when I took this photo.

While this is outlawed in all three states, it still happens when some people think that they will never get caught. I guess it was a good thing for these guys that I am a photographer and not a State Policeman... :-)

Looks Like Fall

Please click on the photo for a better image...

Unlike other parts of the country it has been quite dry around here. As things dry up trees and grass, and other greenery, are starting to turn colors; colors that resembles Fall like images.

This trees in back of my house are starting to do just that, as is other items in the woods. Hopefully we will get some much needed rain and turn things back green again and stay that way until the real Fall shows up, and there is plenty of time for that...

Friday Favorite..... Williamsburg Station

Please click on the photo for a better image...

Williamsburg, VA is one of our favorite vacation spots. In addition to Colonial Williamsburg there is also Jamestown and Yorktown. So, one can spend several days visiting and enjoying the history that can be found in all of these areas.

This year, however, we were not able to go. In fact we were not able to go anywhere this year which kind of made a Summer a real bummer. Hopefully, maybe next year things will be different and we will be able to go back and spend another week. Only time will tell. Only God knows for sure...

Over My Shoulder

Please click on the photo for a better image...

As I mentioned in Monday's post I have been recovering from a heat related illness. Slowly but surely I am starting to get back some of my strength and have been trying to get outside more, except on bright sunny days.

So, one overcast afternoon I took a good magazine outside to read and sat on our small back deck by a small table under an umbrella and got ready to read. Then I got the idea of trying to take a photo of me, over my shoulder, looking at the magazine right before I opened it. This is the result. I did not notice until later how the left rim of my glasses resembled the black half circle on the front of the magazine.

Talk about capturing something at just the right moment and at the right angle. You can just imagine my surprise. BTW, holding the camera up and behind my head and trying to keep it over my left shoulder while looking as if nothing was going on was not all that easy. However, it only took three shots to get this image...

Squirrel Playing In A Welcome Wheel

Please click on a photo for a better image...

This past week I have not been able to get out to do some proper photography, due to a heat related illness but, I was able to practice what I preach about seeing photo opportunities anywhere, even in your own yard.

One morning I saw this Squirrel playing out back in this old Welcome Wheel and I went out onto the small back deck and took a few photos of it playing around with it. These were the two I like best and I just wanted to share them with you. The little fella did have fun playing around here for awhile but eventually he left and I have not, as of yet, seen him back. Hopefully some day he will...

Friday Favorite..... House Of Stories

Please click on the photo for a better image...

When I see something like this I begin to wonder, if this place could talk, what stories it could tell. The age, out on a back country road, standing alone from other homes, who were the people who lived there? What was life like for them, where they happy, married, had kids? History standing quiet and we will never know stories behind it...

A Normal Rainy Day

Please click on the photo for a better image...

I love going out and have fun doing rainy day photography, but every so often there are times when you are just not able to get past the front door. This was one of those days. Hence, this shot from the front of my house...

Rainy Day Out

Please click on the photo for a better image...

Why is it that every time you plan an outdoor activity it rains? Just standing in the kitchen watching the rain come down. Of course that is our driveway outside the window...
