Tomlinson's Tavern, also known as Tomlinson's Inn and built in 1816, is now a private residence. This place is located on the original National Road - Route 40 - in Western Maryland.

The walls are two feet thick and there are 18 rooms in the building. The original owner Jesse Tomlinson was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. Among the more notable guests who have stayed here are Presidents - elect James K. Polk and William Henry Harrison.
