All of these images were created from photos taken in my yard. As I've written...

"The purpose of this journal is to show that you can find something of interest to photograph even if you don't leave your own yard."

Mary's Train Photo

This past weekend the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad celebrated their 25th anniversary of operation. In the process they had invited two additional smaller steam engines to participate in the festivities.

We went down on Saturday to take a look at them but it was raining all day long. As we started to cross the tracks that leads to the station, I handed my camera to my wife and told her that when I said now to roll down her window and take a couple of photos. She only had time for two and while both of them are nice I liked this one the best.

In honor of the celebration I used a Fujifilm action on the photo and then gave it a vintage look to it. However, if it were not for Mary getting this wonderful photo I would not have an image of any kind of the two engines. My wife did well...

Green Leaves of Summer

Please click on the photo for a better image...

A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
The green leaves of summer
Are calling me home

'Twas so good to be young then
In the season of plenty
When the catfish were jumping
As high as the sky

A time just for planting
A time just for ploughing
A time to be courting
A girl of your own

'Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
And to stand by your wife
At the moment of birth

A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
A time just for living
A place for to die

'Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home

'Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home
