Silk Still Waiting…

This is the last photo from the Klotz Throwing Mill collection. This mill, also known as the Lonaconing Silk Mill, in Lonaconing, MD which closed in 1957 after the employees walked out on strike, is pretty much still in the same condition as the day they walked out. They were not allowed back in and all they left is still there, in addition to all of the equipment and supplies that was there when it closed.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you these images of a place from when time stood still. For now the building and equipment is still there, but it it’s not sure how much longer this will last. This could be gone before we all know it…
