BW Mode #17… Looking Out To The Bay

I was out on Black Point, at the East end of Jamestown Island, and I was attempting to photograph down the James River looking towards the bay.

It was an overcast morning with some breaks in the clouds and everything had an overall grayish tone to it, but suddenly this one cloud came over that really made the rocks in front of me go quite dark. I was shooting in Manual Mode and I kept the exposure setting that I already had and just snapped the shutter before the light came back. I could not have asked for a better light shim that what the clouds had done for me…
