Window Secrets

Who was the first person to have looked out of these windows? Where are they now? What secrets remain hidden behind them?

These are questions about which the answers will never be known. Many such windows exists and these are but one example of the secrets that we will never know.

Don’t you just love a good mystery… Smile

Smoking Station

Do you ever photograph something just for the sake of photographing? I don’t. Not much, anyway… Smile

While waiting for my wife to come out of a store I was looking around and I saw these seats with the cigarette deposit receptacle between them and I just loved the setup and the colors against the white walls. So, I backed the car up just enough to get this view through the front windshield and this is the result.

Yeah, I do like it… Smile

Eyes Of Innocents

Recently I was doing some photography at an indoor youth soccer match. Usually I get up close to the plastic partition to do my work, but this time I was sitting on the top row of the bleachers and shooting the action as I could from where I was sitting.

During a break I was looking around and I noticed this little boy, sitting on his mother’s lap, staring up at me. How could anyone not want to photograph him. I had the perfect lens for this on my DSLR – an 85mm – and it gave me this great image.

Look at those eyes. What is he thinking? What does he see? Is he making memories? As I look back at him I see one thing. I see myself from beyond a half a century ago. And I do so as he sees me - through eyes of innocents… Smile

Two Forty Two

Please click on the photo for a better image...

The subtle green steps, the slightly faded red bricks and the running white paint surrounding the door with the oval glass set back in the alcove. Sometimes you can look at something that is fascinating, in an offbeat eclectic way, and if you have a camera with you, you just have to capture it in a photograph.

That is what happened here. Two Forty Two is like something out of the past. I just loved the way these elements came together. No matter how many times one would go back you would never be able to create this scene in exactly the same way. That is what I love about photography – stopping a moment of time for all eternity.

But, in order to do so, if you are not looking you will never see that one moment to capture…

Blue Monday

Please click on the photo for a better image...

Last Friday I posted a photo called “Black Friday”. It was from today’s photo – Blue Monday – from which Black Friday came.

In getting this image, if anyone is interested, I used a Canon G11 and used the Positive Color app. It gives a result similar to the old Ektachrome color slide film. Whereas Kodachrome was warm in color, Ektachrome was more on the cool side and emphasized the Blue’s and Green’s of a scene, hence the blue sky (clouds) as you see it…

Time Has Come Today

Time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
Can't put it off another day
I don't care what others say
They say we don't listen anyway
Time has come today…
Hey!

Fall Along The Viaduct

This was done so as to provide a "vintage" look. This is what I had in mind when I captured this image. I haven't said this for quite awhile now but, "this is my world and you are welcome to it"... :-)

Lil Corner Market

My earliest memories of this little market was from back in the 50’s. I have no idea of how long it had been in business before that, but it has become a mainstay in Frostburg, MD.
